National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN) has successfully completed the following R&D Studies/ Projects: -

  • Quantitative & Qualitative Assessment Gaps of Engineering Graduates in Selected Infrastructure Industries for National Science & Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. more>>
  • Pilot Study on R&D output at Post Graduate/ Research level in Engineering Technology disciplines of Selected Northern Indian Institutes for National Science & Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India. more>>

  • Created Web Compatible Database Directory for Engineering Faculty Members engaged in activities like R&D, Consultancy, Training, Teaching etc., for Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR). The Database online in Vigyan Server at Bangalore on the web site www.vigyan.org.in. Database covered more than 200 Govt. Engineering Institutes/ Colleges including IITs, IISc, National Institutes of Technology and Regional Engineering Colleges and 15000 Individual Faculty Members all over India.   • Conducted a study "Profiles of Exportable Technologies from SMEs in and around Delhi" for Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research (DSIR), division Transfer & Trading in Technology (TATT). more>>

  • Conducted a study on "Developing Indicators for Measuring Success of Research Projects" for  National Science & Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), a division of Deptt. of S&T, Govt. of India. more>>

  • Created and deisgned website reg. "Database on Homoeopathic System of Midicines in India" for Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. more>>

  • Created and Designed web site reg. "Profiles of Exportable Technologies from SMEs in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and UT of Chandigarh" for DSIR, Ministry of S&T, Govt. of India & Compile of Profiles of Exportable Technologies/ Projects from Indian SMEs. more>>

  • Conducted a study on "To Assessment of Waste & Patern of Occupational Hazards in Plastic Industry all over India" for  National Science & Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), a division of Deptt. of S&T, Govt. of India.more>>

  • Conducted a study on "Status of Nanotechnology in Indian Industry & Academia/ R&D Labs."" for  National Science & Technology Management Information System (NSTMIS), a division of Deptt. of S&T, Govt. of India.more>>

  • Conducted a project to promoting Technology Cooperation & Trade between India & Africa under International Technology Transfer & Market Assess Initiative Scheme jointly sponsored by Department of Scientific & Industrial Research, Ministry of Science & Technology and Department of Commerce, Ministry of Industry & Commerce, Govt. of India. NAFEN arranged 29 MOUs signed between investors from Africian countries and 26 Indian SMEs for setting up manufacturing projects.more>>

Study under progress: --

  • The National Science, Technology & Management Information System (NSTMIS), division of DST, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India recently entrusted the study "To assess the impact of Foreign Collaborations on Indian Industry in the Liberalized Era".

  • Rashtriya Vigyan Evam Prodyogiki Sanchar Parishad, Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India recently entrusted the study "To assess occupational hazards for woemn in indian Plastic Products manufacturing, Garments & Electronics Industry". This study is covering following objectives:-

    • To compile information pertaining to various studies for different identified select occupations that predominantly involve women and up date the data.

    • To collect latest and up to date data on select identified industries on occupational hazards predominantly involving women

    • To prepare manuals on safety and healthy work practices for different select identified sectors

  • Under the Water Technology Initiative Programme (WTI), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Ministry of Science a Technology, Government of India has sponsored the study entitled " ASSESS AND ANALYZE STATUS OF WATER PURIFICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN INDIA" to NAFEN, with the following objectives:-

    • To Assess the Status of Water Purification Technologies in India from identified manufactures and R&D Labs., for house hold (<15 lph) and community systems
      (>15-<500 lph) and (>500-5000 lph).
    • To analyze data from the identified users like Jal Nigams/ Boards, PHEDs, Municipalities and Panchyati Raj institutions for community systems of capacities (>15-<500 lph) & (>500-5000 lph) from the identified states.

    Ministry has constituted a Local Project Advisory Committee (LPAC) under the chairmanship of Dr. Laxman Prasad, Advisor & Head (TDI), Department of Science & Technology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India comprising the members from Delhi Jal Board, Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi; Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences under DRDO; Central Soil & Materials Research Station; Tata Energy Research Institute; Development Alternatives; Ion Exchange India Limited; Kent Water Filter System P. Ltd.; and Eureka Forbes to advise and review the status of the project from time to time. NAFEN organised the 1st LPAC meeting on 16th March, 2009 to finalize the questionnaires. Dr. Laxman Prasad, Advisor & Head, (TDI) chaired the meeting. Shri S Bajpai welcomed the participants on behalf of DST Ministry and also explained the main philiphospy behind the study. The members gave their comments and views on the questionnaire. Based on these comments and views, the questionnaires were finalized. The project will be completed with in one year time period, “0” date started from March, 2009.
