Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, has initiated a new programme on ‘Water Technology Initiative’ (WTI) with the objective of promoting R&D activities aimed at providing safe drinking water at affordable cost and in adequate quantity using appropriate science and technology interventions evolved through indigenous efforts. In line with above mandate, DST has initiated the above study at national level through a structured questionnaire prepared in consultation with experts for Manufacturers, R&D Labs using drinking water purification technologies Therefore, department has sponsored this study to National Foundation of Indian Engineers (NAFEN), New Delhi.
